Preguntas frecuentes

What is mediation and how does it work?

Mediation is a confidential, voluntary process where a neutral third party (the mediator) helps individuals resolve disputes without going to trial. In Florida, mediation is commonly used in family law, civil, and business disputes. The mediator does not make decisions but helps the parties communicate, explore options, and work toward a mutually acceptable agreement.

Is mediation required in court cases?

In many Florida cases, yes. Courts often require mediation before a case can proceed to trial, especially in family law and civil matters. Even when not required, parties may choose mediation to save time, reduce costs, and maintain more control over the outcome.

What happens if we reach an agreement during mediation?

If an agreement is reached, it is typically put into writing and signed by both parties. Once approved by the court (if applicable), the agreement becomes legally binding and enforceable. If no agreement is reached, the parties may continue with litigation to explore other resolution options.
